Found Unharmed: Police Issue Silver Alert for Missing Park Forest Woman

UPDATE from Park Forest Police Friday: “After extensive work by our Investigations Division and assistance from other law enforcement partners, Ms. West was located unharmed. Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for missing 72-year-old resident Selma West.

According to a statement released by the department Thursday, Ms. West was last seen on June 26, 2019, at approximately 1:30 PM at her residence on the 400 block of Sandburg Street in Park Forest where she resides with family.

She is described as an African American female, approximately 5’03” tall, 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, according to the statement.

Her family indicates she is diagnosed with dementia, according to the statement.

Ms. West does not drive or own a vehicle and may be walking in the area of Park Forest, Olympia Fields, or Chicago Heights.

“We do not have a clothing description, but Ms. West may be carrying a cream colored overnight bag,” police said in the statement.
