Park Forest Water Remains Safe to Drink Newly-released Report Confirms

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Village of Park Forest released a statement regarding the continued safe quality of water in town. “Park Forest’s water supply is in good standing,” the statement affirms.

The entire statement follows:

With the recent news of high levels of lead content in the drinking water of some south suburban communities, residents should take note that this does not apply to the water supply in Park Forest. As mandated by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), municipalities issue annual Consumer Confidence Reports related to water quality. These reports include any violations found in regular testing as verified by an outside vendor approved by the IEPA.

The Village’s most recent lead and copper testing was performed in 2017. The Village’s result was 3.2 ppm (parts per billion) or rather 0.0032 mg/l (milligrams per liter) which was well below the IEPA’s action limit of 15 ppb (0.015 mg/l).

Park Forest’s water supply is in good standing.
