Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. If your name is listed in the police reports, we will only add information relevant to the final disposition of the case at hand, e.g. "Mr. Smith was subsequently acquitted," or "All charges against Mr. Smith were subsequently dropped." We will do so upon receiving and verifying proof of such disposition.

We will always include some introductory comments before the first item. While everything that follows is a matter of public record, we do not believe it is necessary to have names on page one.

An officer was dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Miami Street on July 17 in reference to her report of an attempted criminal trespass to residence.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on July 17 to investigate a report of criminal damage to a vehicle that had occurred in the 200 block of Allegheny Street. There were no arrests. Police have suspect information.

A Silver Audiovox DVD player valued at $150, a silver watch valued at $75 and a silver Samsung Digimax D53 camera valued at $150 were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Shabbona Drive on July 18. Two juveniles, age 14 and 15, were arrested in connection with this incident.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on July 18 to investigate a report of fraud. She reported that she is the owner of a house in the 300 block of Somonauk. She stated that she is currently renting the residence to a tenant, and in the contract that had been signed, she agreed to open all utilities under her name. The owner of the house stated she received bills from Commonwealth Edison in the amount of $878.55, Nicor in the amount of $1341.96, and the Park Forest Water Department in the amount of $301.77. The owner of the property alleged that the tenant contacted these utility companies and opened an account in the owner’s name without her permission.

A PlayStation 3 valued at $399.99, a DVD player valued at $49.99, a digital camera valued at $250, and $230 United States currency were reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Indianwood Blvd. on July 19.

Zakari M. Cooper, 26, 15038 Chicago Rd., Dolton, was arrested on July 19 and charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance and issued traffic citations charging obstructed front-side windows, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving without a valid driver’s license, and obstructing a police officer. Officers on patrol in the area of Sauk Trail and Blackhawk Drive observed a vehicle Cooper was driving parked in the parking lot of a gas station on Sauk Trail. The vehicle was not parked next to a gas pump and was obstructing the pump area. Officers observed suspicious activity, according to police. When the vehicle drove away, police observed that the vehicle had obstructed front-side windows, dark tint, and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at Richton Square Road and Piccadilly Court in Richton Park.

The living room window of a residence in the 300 block of Indianwood Blvd. was reported broken on July 19.

Jeremy J. Kotash, 33, 211 Washington St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 19 and charged with criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to that address in response to a 911 hang-up call.

Leszek D. Baldyga, 43, 480 Shabbona, Park Forest, was arrested on July 20 and charged with domestic battery and interference with the reporting of domestic violence in connection with an incident where police were dispatched to that address on July 19 to investigate a report of domestic battery.

A juvenile was arrested on July 19 and charged with discharge of an air gun when police were dispatched to the first block of Hemlock regarding a report that a juvenile had been shot in the face with a BB gun.

Damian L. Caraway, 25, 79B Hemlock, Park Forest, was arrested on July 20 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address regarding a report of a domestic disturbance in progress.

Donald D. Henderson, 18, 213 Washington, Park Forest, was arrested on July 20 and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis and criminal trespass to land when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Washington Street in reference to a report of a residential burglary in progress. Marvell D. Stillwell, 19, 189 Washington St., Park Forest, was arrested in connection with the same incident and charged with criminal trespass to property.

A 14-year-old juvenile was arrested on July 20 and charged with robbery when police were dispatched to Central Park, to investigate reports of a strong arm robbery. The youth allegedly stole a bike, according to police.

Morris Stoutmire, 43, 108 Peach St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 20 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the address in reference to a 911 hang-up call.

A passenger side window of a truck parked in the 300 block of Juniper Street was reported shattered on July 20.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Neosho Street on July 20 to investigate a report of a disturbance. Police continue to investigate.

A juvenile allegedly stole a bottle of liquor from CVS Pharmacy, 1 Main St., on July 21. The youth was described as a black male, approximately 15 years of age, wearing an orange shirt, gray pants, and black and white shoes.

Two tires of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Mohawk Street were reportedly slashed on July 21.

Andre D. Scott, 20, 855 Oakside Dr., University Park, was arrested on July 22 and charged with underage consumption of alcohol and resisting a peace officer when police were dispatched to Sauk Trail and Osage in reference to a report of the disturbance.

Ricky V. Ruff, 43, 339 Blackhawk, Park Forest, was arrested on July 22 and charged with domestic battery and interfering with the report of domestic battery when police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department in reference to a report of domestic battery.

Brandon H. Kinsey, 18, 374 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested on July 22 and charged with possession of cannabis when police responded to a report of a suspicious person allegedly harassing customers at a gas station in the 300 block of Sauk Trail.

Karl J. Cook, 44, 315 Sheridan St., Park Forest, was arrested and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address in reference to a report of domestic battery.

A tan Garden Oasis patio table and 6 tan patio chairs were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Indianwood Boulevard on July 23.

Two juveniles were arrested and issued municipal tickets charging trespassing when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Winnebago Street to investigate a report of two unwanted subjects.

A mint green female’s Bianchi Boardwalk mountain bike with red leather grips and the word “BOARDWALK” written in red lettering down the frame of the bike was reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Elm Street on July 23.

A tan 4-door 1995 Nissan Altima, Georgia registration #393XZX, was reported stolen from a parking lot in the first block of North Arbor Trails on July 23.

Latanyaneke C. Jones, 36, 303 Waldmann St., Park Forest, was arrested on July 24 and charged with an illegal sound amplification system, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, obstructed windows, and possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol observed the vehicle Jones was driving traveling westbound on North Street with tinted front driver and passenger side windows and an amplification system audible from more than 150 feet away, according to police.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Arrowhead Street on July 23 to investigate a report of domestic battery. There were no arrests. Police have suspect information.

Adrian A. Austin, 20, 50 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested on July 24 and charged with criminal trespass to land when police responded to Court H-6 in response to a report of a large fight in the middle of the court.

Brian L. Johnson, 25, 556 Minette Ln., Chicago Heights, was arrested on July 24 and charged with felony driving while license revoked, illegal use of a sound amplification device, illegal display a front license plate, illegal transportation of alcohol-driver, and two arrest warrants when detectives on patrol in the area of the west intersection of 26th and Allegheny streets heard loud music in the area. Detectives observed a van approximately 100 to 125 feet away and determined the van was the source of loud music.

Two watches valued at $50 each were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Apache Street on July 24.

A Pioneer CD stereo valued at $300 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Cedar Street on July 25. The drivers side rear opera window of the vehicle had been broken.
