Park Forest Police Report – January 19, 2009


A large black cloth bag was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a business in the 400 block of Sauk Trail on January 9.

Two juveniles were issued municipal tickets charging disorderly conduct after an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of Wilson Street on January 9 in reference to a report of a fight.

Valencia V. Callahan, 18, 209 Berry St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 9 and charged with disorderly conduct (filing a false police report) when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of theft.

Police were dispatched to Park Forest Academy, 375 Oswego Street, on January 9 to investigate a report of telephone harassment. Police have suspect information.

A juvenile was arrested on January 9 and charged with illegal consumption of alcoholic liquor by a minor and issued a local ordinance municipal ticket charging illegal possession of a tobacco product by a minor when an officer on patrol in the Rich East High School parking lot observed the juvenile allegedly smoking a cigarette and then extinguishing the cigarette directly in front of the officer.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on January 10 in reference to a report of deceptive practices. A resident reported that her bank account had several fraudulent transactions. Police continue to investigate.

Two teenagers were arrested on January 10 and charged with criminal trespass to a residence when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Algonquin Street to investigate a report of a juvenile problem.

The kitchen door of a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street was kicked completely off its frame and found lying on the kitchen floor on January 10. Police found no signs of burglary or vandalism inside the residence.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Lester Street on January 10 to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. There were no arrests.

A Nintendo Wii game console valued at $249, a number of items of infant clothing valued at $50, a Sony PlayStation 2 game console valued at $149, and a pink backpack valued at $25 were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Apache Street on January 10.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer when police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Sheridan Street to investigate a report of a juvenile who possibly had a gun. Police did not discover a gun.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Wilshire Street on January 10 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident reported suspicious activity on her debit card.

The front driver’s side window of a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Watseka Street was reported shattered on January 11.

Eric D. Rogers, 37, 281 Arcadia St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 12 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance.

Robert S. Bugner, 37, 347 Oakwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 12 and charged with violation of an order of protection when police were dispatched to that address in reference to a report of a disturbance.

A Social Security card was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Dogwood Street on January 13.

Michael B. Sherman, 25, 240 Hickory St., Park Forest, was arrested on January 14 and charged with one felony count of unlawful possession of a stolen registration sticker when an officer on patrol observed a vehicle parked on Hickory Street and checked the registration of the vehicle, discovering that the plate number of the vehicle had an expiration date of May, 2008. The plate had a valid July, 2009 registration sticker affixed to it, according to police.

Eric C. Suderow, 29, 225 S. Orchard Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on January 14 and charged with one count of domestic battery when police were dispatched to that address to investigate a report of domestic battery.

A PlayStation 3 game console, valued at $399, a safe and $2600 in cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Victoria Circle on January 14.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on January 15 to investigate a report of theft. A man reported that someone had stolen his wallet while he was at a friend’s house in Park Forest. Police continue to investigate.
