Park Forest Police Report for March 30, 2009


A juvenile was arrested on March 18 and charged with theft when an officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Library to investigate a theft complaint. A patron reported leaving a black SanDisk MP3 player on a computer station desk and walking away to look for a book. Upon returning, the patron discovered that the MP3 player was missing. A review of security tapes provided police with information about the alleged offender, who was later located by Officer Butler walking in the parking lot at Chase Bank, 202 Forest Blvd., according to police.

Tyrice Carter, 19, 193 Lester Rd., Park Forest, was arrested on March 20 and charged with underage possession of an alcoholic beverage when officers in the area of Court H-11 were notified by Thorncreek Security Officers that subjects were possibly drinking alcohol. A juvenile was also arrested and charged with underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage.

Allen J. Howard, 39, 182 Washington St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 20, processed and charged on a felony warrant and also possession of cannabis when police executed a search warrant on a residence at that address in reference to a narcotics investigation, according to police.

Sandra L. Bellamy, 39, 1 Well Ct., Park Forest, was arrested on March 21 and charged with domestic-related criminal damage to property when police were dispatched to a residence in the first block of McCarthy Street to investigate a report of criminal damage to property.

Cecilia C. Del Real, 21, 313 155th St., Calumet City, was arrested on March 22 and charged with expired registration, failure to wear a properly fastened and adjusted seatbelt, and possession of cannabis, 30 grams and under, when an officer on patrol in the area of Blackhawk Drive and Indianwood Boulevard observed the vehicle Del Real was driving traveling at a high rate of speed, according to police.

The driver’s side cargo-area window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Somonauk Street was reported shattered on March 22.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Wilson Street to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. There were no arrests. Police have suspect information.

The living room window of a residence in the first block of Hemlock Street was reported shattered on March 23.

The left rear passenger door window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Sycamore Drive was reported shattered on March 23. Police also saw that the driver’s door lock was damaged and looked like it had been pried with an unknown tool.

Sean C. Lake, 23, 122 Sauk Trail, Park Forest, was arrested on March 24 and charged with possession of cannabis and issued a municipal citation charging operation of a motor vehicle with no valid driver’s license when Detective Busse and Officer Hoskins initiated a traffic stop on Sauk Trail of the vehicle Lake was driving. According to police, Det. Busse knew that Lake was the driver of the vehicle and knew Lake has never had a valid driver’s license, according to police.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Sauganash Street on March 26 to investigate a report of shots fired in front of a residence. Police spoke with the victim/complainant, who related, that while inside his residence, he heard a noise which he believed was gunshots coming from outside. Police located one spent .380 caliber R.P. Auto casing on the roadway. Police continue to investigate.
