Park Forest Police Report – February 16, 2009


Park Forest Police are investigating an alleged attempted kidnapping of a juvenile that was reported on February 3. The high school-age student told police two men attempted to pull the juvenile into a van while the student was waiting for a school bus in the Autumn Ridge neighborhood. Police continue to investigate.

Deandre Fulton, 17, 412 Todd St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 6 and charged with underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage when detectives on patrol in the 300 block of Todd Street saw a subject, later identified as Fulton, walking down the street carrying what detectives believed to be a beer bottle, according to police.

Reginald S. Small, 38, 21624 Cynthia Ave., Sauk Village, was arrested on February 6 and charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, exceeding the posted speed limit, improper lane usage, driving with a suspended driver’s license, and battery. Police say they observed the vehicle Small was driving allegedly exceeding the speed limit while traveling northbound on Western Avenue.

Elroy Jones, 23, 106B Indianwood Blvd., Park Forest, was arrested on February 7 and charged with illegal transportation of an alcoholic liquor on a public way when a detective patrolling in the area of Hemlock Street and Indianwood Boulevard observed Jones allegedly walking on the roadway consuming a beverage from an Ice House bottle, according to police.

Brandon A. Hopkins, 20, 405 Westgate, Park Forest, was arrested on February 7 and charged with disorderly conduct when detectives on patrol in the area of 26th Street and Western Avenue observed Hopkins allegedly urinate behind the Stop and Shop liquor store, according to police.

Reuben F. Goodwin, Jr., 20, 3861 Marilyn Dr., Richton Park, was arrested on February 7 and issued a municipal citations charging driving without headlights and possession of cannabis when an officer on patrol in the area of Western Avenue and Sauk Trail observed that the vehicle Goodwin was driving did not have headlights on, according to police.

Quinton L. Brown, 40, 359 Winona St., Park Forest, was arrested on February 7 and charged with criminal trespass to vehicle and driving while license suspended when an officer, who was running random registration checks of vehicles, ran the registration of the vehicle Brown was driving and the response showed that the vehicle had been reported stolen, according to police.

Robert S. Bugner, 38, 5110 W. Main St., Monee, was arrested on February 8 and charged with violation of orders of protection when police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Oakwood Drive to investigate a report of violation of orders of protection.

The windshield of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Sycamore Drive was reported cracked on February 8. Police observed several deep scratches and dents to the front hood of the vehicle as well. Lying on the ground next to the vehicle was a large gray landscaping brick that was apparently used to cause the damage, according to police.

A man entered the Park Forest Police Department on February 8 shortly before 11:30 p.m. holding a blood-soaked white shirt against his left side. Police observed an approximate three-quarter inch slash on the left side of his body and immediately summoned Park Forest paramedics to the scene. He told police that he had been visiting his girlfriend in the 100 block of Lester Street when they got into an argument and she allegedly slashed him with a box cutter, according to police. Police continue to investigate.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Sauk Trail on February 9 to investigate a report of a domestic battery. There were no arrests.

Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Westgate on February 10 to investigate a report of an abandoned maroon vehicle with no front tire. Cpl. Strahla located the vehicle, a 2000 maroon Lincoln Town Car, and confirmed through LEADS that the vehicle had been reported stolen by the Chicago Police Department. According to police, there was damage to the entire vehicle. The Chicago Police Department was notified and the vehicle was towed.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Washington Street on February 10 to investigate a report of a residential burglary. A Nintendo Wii game system valued at $300, an Xbox 360 game system valued at $300, and a number of DVD movies valued at $300 were reported stolen. Police have suspect information and continue to investigate.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 2800 block of Western Avenue on February 11 to investigate a report of criminal defacement. An officer observed a word spray-painted on the wall of a building.

Police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on February 11 to investigate a report of armed robbery. Due to unusual circumstances and inconsistencies in the account of the incident, according to police, there were no arrests and police continue to investigate.

A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of N. Arbor Trail on February 12.

Annmarie Elenteny, 35, 1822 W. 187th St., Homewood, was arrested on February 13 and charged with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance. Elenteny had been arrested by the Chicago Heights Police Department on a Park Forest bond forfeiture warrant charging forgery, according to police. She was transported to the Park Forest Police Department. During a custodial search, police discovered a clear baggie on her person containing a chunky, off-white rock-like substance, suspect crack cocaine.
