The Village of Park Forest will host its annual job fair at Village Hall on Saturday, April 12.
Community Relations Manager Evelyn Randle stated that this year, the Commission on Human Relations and the Youth Commission are organizing the event along with village officials. The primary aim of the job fair is to support community members actively seeking employment or exploring new opportunities in the job market.
“The objective is to create meaningful connections between employers and potential employees,” Randle explained. “This event will allow companies to showcase their open positions while job seekers can network, gain insights into various career paths, and learn about job opportunities available in our area.”
Randle noted that with the current uncertainties in the job market, many individuals are reevaluating their career paths. Young people are entering the workforce for the first time, making this event particularly timely.
Annual Job Fair Specifics
The Park Forest Job Fair will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the main boardroom at Village Hall, located at 350 Victory Drive. Attendees should arrive early and dress professionally. Prepare for possible on-the-spot interviews.
Ms. Randle emphasized the importance of being prepared. She advises individuals to come equipped with several copies of their resumes.
Randle said this year’s fair will feature a diverse array of potential employers spanning multiple industries, including education, healthcare, transportation, hospitality, and more. Job seekers will have ample opportunities to connect with hiring managers and learn about their future career options.
