Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– A new grocer is finally coming to Park Forest.

Owners of Windy City Market plans to move into their newest location at 120 S. Orchard Drive early next year, according to village officials.

The owners, Joe Lucchetto and Archie Argyron, have operated Windy City Produce at 3340 N. Pulaski, in Chicago, for the past 24 years.

Windy City Market comes to the same location in Orchard Park Plaza formerly occupied by the Sterk’s store, which closed all of its locations in 2007.

A walk through the space in its current condition finds recently delivered counters and storage units throughout, new paint colors, and construction crews busy at work in preparation for a late-January opening. The new store will position its entry doors just north of the former entrance. Workers have already begun erecting the new façade.

The 28,000 square foot store will offer an array of goods including fresh produce, quality poultry and meats, fresh deli meats, prepared foods, freshly baked goods, a variety of ethnic foods, and a host of other products, according to village officials. The hours of operation are yet to be announced, but the store is scheduled to be open seven days a week.

Windy City Market will employ a staff of approximately 20 to 25 people to start. Applications will be made available in the coming weeks with interviews tentatively scheduled for the first two weeks in January.

Orchard Park Plaza LLC, represented by Matanky Realty Group, announced the signing of a lease by Windy City Market in January 2008. The store will occupy about half the space of the former Sterk’s grocer.
