Residents are advised to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Bring water to a rolling boil, and boil it for five minutes and let it cool before use.

This mandatory boil order began on July 5, 2019, at approximately 3:15 p.m. and will remain in place through – at earliest – Monday morning.

Residents should boil tap water for 5 minutes before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Alternatively, bottled water should be used for drinking or cooking during this period.

The mandatory boil order does not mean all Village water is contaminated. The issuing of this mandatory boil order is in response to one routine sample taken in Park Forest failing to meet IEPA standards. As a result, residents should take proper precautions until further test results show no further incidents of failed water samples.

The cause of this failed water sample is currently unclear and crews are investigating.

Park Forest plans  to take 31 samples from around the community over the next two days to determine the quality of the water throughout the Village.

Updates on the mandatory boil order will be provided when the advisory has been lifted.

For questions, please contact Park Forest’s Public Works Department during normal business hours and the Park Forest Police Department at 708-748-4801.
