Park Forest Community Alert – Three Reported Robberies on South End of Town

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—April 24, 2018

The Park Forest Police Department has issued a community alert following several reported robberies on the south end of Village.

  • On April 23, 2018, at approximately 4 a.m., a man reported being robbed at gunpoint after exiting his home on the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive. While the victim was not injured, items of value were stolen. The suspects fled on foot.
  • On April 14, 2018, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a man and woman reported being robbed at gunpoint on the 200 block of Miami St. The male victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound during the encounter. This incident is known to be drug related.
  • On March 20, 2018, a man reported being robbed at gunpoint while walking down the 300 block of Blackhawk Drive at approximately 5 a.m.

Park Forest Police say they cannot determine at this point if the incidents are related but that the robberies were in close physical proximity of each other.

Police are currently investigating each case and remind residents to be aware of their surroundings, particularly in the early morning hours.
