Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—The Village needs volunteers to assist in Park Forest’s annual clean-up day on Saturday, April 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. This year’s event targets two areas for trash and litter pick-up.

Two Designated Clean-Up Areas
The first area is behind the shopping center on the west side of Orchard Avenue (the old Jewel Plaza). Another area is along the tree line of the community gardens on Indianwood Boulevard.

The second area is on Sycamore Avenue from Western Avenue to the Autumn Ridge Apartments.

Volunteers will meet in front of Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, at 9 a.m. to review safety protocols and receive their clean-up supplies, which include gloves and trash bags. They will then travel to one of the two designated sites.
At the end of the clean-up period, volunteers leave the collected trash in bags at the site. The public works department will pick up the trash on Monday. Volunteers return their supplies to Village Hall.
Sustainability Office Offering Prizes
According to Carrie Malfeo, Park Forest’s Sustainability Coordinator, there will be a “Most Interesting Find” contest. Volunteers can share photos of an unusual or unexpected discovery made during the clean-up. The Sustainability Office offers three prizes for the most interesting or scariest discoveries.
Those wishing to participate in the Clean-Up Day activities can register using the QR code on the flyer above. Alternatively, they can sign up online or call the Sustainability Office at (708) 503-9372.
