Will Tanzman, the director of SOUL (Southsiders Organizing for Unity and Liberation) will be giving a training on classic community organizing methodologies that could potentially be of use to occupiers. The training is intended to give people a better understanding of power in society and help people better strategize in campaigns and actions. It will also serve to help people better clarify their own self interests and help to develop stronger leaders within the Occupy Chicago movement. This training will serve as the baseline for a series of upcoming community organizing trainings and will be required to attend  trainings on more indepth issues like power analysis in issues & actions, one-on-ones and outreach, working in coalition groups, and much more. Also, this training is going to be nearly identical to the training given this past Wednesday, October 26 and is meant for people that could not make it earlier this week.
