Notice of Proposed Park Forest Property Tax Levy, Public Hearing on Monday, Dec. 4

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—December 4, 2017

A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy for the Village of Park Forest shall be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall, Board Room, 350 Victory Drive, Park Forest, Illinois. Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing Village may contact Mark Pries, Finance Director, (telephone 708-283-5607).

The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for the year 2016 were $17,851,851. The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2017 are $18,271,819. This represents a 2.35% increase over the previous year.

The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2016 were $470,279. The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service for 2017 are $254,875. This represents a 45.8% decrease over the previous year.

The total property taxes extended or unabated for 2016 were $18,322,130. The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2017 are $18,526,694. This represents a 1.12% increase over the previous year.
