LWV Study: One Person Serving Two Elected Positions

logo-lwv.gif Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— The League of Women Voters of the Park Forest Area (LWVPFA), announced that it will study the issue of an individual serving in two elected positions simultaneously. The kick-off of this study will be a public meeting Saturday November 10 at 1:00 pm in the board room of Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. Michael Luke from the Office of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan will address the legal issues involved in this complex issue.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization which does not support political candidates. However, the League DOES support positions on issues — after careful study of each issue. Studies of national impact are initiated at the national level while studies of state or local issues can be done at those levels.

The meeting is scheduled to last about 2 1/2 hours and refreshments will be served. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
