Watch for Running Water – Blackhawk Water Tower To Be Inspected

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- A news release from the Village of Park Forest regarding an upcoming inspection of the water tower in Blackhawk Plaza:

The 500,000 gallon elevated tank located at the corner of Blackhawk and Indianwood is scheduled to be cleaned and inspected on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. The contractor on the job will be Dixon Engineering, Lake Odessa, MI.

The tower will be taken off line on Thursday, October 25 and the water level of the tower slowly lowered. After lowering the level as much as possible into the distribution system, the tower will be isolated from the system. The balance of the water will be drained from a hydrant at the base of the tower. There will be water draining from the tower Friday and into the weekend. Running water may be noticed in the parking lot and on the street near the tower.

The Autumn Ridge tower, the standpipe on Tamarack and the balance of the system will remain in normal operation.
