President Obama Endorses Robin Kelly In The Illinois 2nd Congressional District Race

CHICAGO—(ENEWSPF)-April 2, 2013. Today, President Barack Obama endorsed Robin Kelly in the Illinois 2nd Congressional District special election:

“In my State of the Union address, I laid out a vision to make the United States a magnet for jobs and manufacturing, equip every American with the skills they need to do those jobs, and ensure that hard work leads to a decent living.  To continue moving America forward, I need partners in the House of Representatives like Robin Kelly.  I have known Robin for many years and I am confident she is the perfect choice to represent the Illinois 2nd Congressional District,” said President Obama.

“Robin is a tireless champion for building small businesses, supporting middle-class families, protecting our seniors, improving transportation and expanding access to health care.  I share Robin’s passionate advocacy to end gun violence with common sense solutions because like her, I believe families impacted by gun violence – especially in my home city of Chicago – deserve a vote.  As a member of Congress, Robin will help us get that vote and that’s why I urge you to elect Robin Kelly as your representative in the United State Congress.”

“I couldn’t be more proud to have the endorsement of my friend, President Barack Obama,” said Robin Kelly. “Since our work together in the Illinois legislature, we have shared a vision of helping communities thrive by supporting small businesses and economic development, giving children and adults alike great education and training, and ending the cycle of gun violence.  In Congress, I look forward to continuing working with the President and members of our Illinois delegation to achieve the bright future Americans deserve.”

Election Day is Tuesday, April 9th.
