No Police Reports So Far This Week as PFPD Undergoes Major Renovations

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Last week we waited almost an hour to get back to read police reports. Yesterday, we were asked to wait until the end of the week.

The Park Forest Police Department is a little more busy these days as the lobby is undergoing major renovations. Also under renovation is the hallway into the administrative area and the court room.

The work may be competed by Friday, at least that was the hope expressed by a records clerk yesterday.

However, the lobby will be much better lit with more efficient flourescent fixtures. Gone is the sloped wall where a paintin stood for years.

The renovations are being paid for with drug seizure money.

Who says there’s no money in drugs?

Perhaps if marijuana is legalized, like states that have done so, Illinois would see a booming increase in taxes and fewer people would see their lives ruined for non-violent offenses.

Just a thought.

We look forward to seeing the completed renovations.
