Man with Gun Reported In Northwestern Building In Chicago

Northwestern University police are investigating a report of a man with a gun in one of the buildings on itsChicago campus, according to the police Web Site.

The report came at about 10 a.m. Someone reported to police that a man with a gun in his waistband was seen in an elevator on the 11th floor of the Rubloff building, 375 E. Chicago Ave., according to the site.

Students in at least one lecture hall were told to get under their desks, according to one of the law students there.

The man was described as a white man wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and button-down shirt.

Police are advising people in the building to stay in their offices and lock their doors. Chicago and Northwestern police are searching the building.
