Free Flood Mitigation Workshop Offered by FEMA

Cook County, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is offering a free educational workshop on preparing a home from future flooding to all Cook County officials, homeowners, and renters.

Mitigation specialists from FEMA are focusing the workshop on small projects that can be undertaken by homeowners to reduce a home’s vulnerability to future flooding. The projects are small in scope and can be completed at a relatively reasonable cost.

Homeowners and members of service clubs, civic organizations, church groups and others in areas which had significant basement flood damage are encouraged to attend the upcoming workshop:

The workshop will be on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Broadview Baptist Church, 2100 S. 25th Avenue, Broadview, IL 60155.
