Congresswoman Duckworth Announces Nearly $1.5 Million for the American Academy of Pediatrics

Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–July 25, 2016. Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) announced $1,499,999 in federal funding to help the Elk Grove Village-based American Academy of Pediatrics improve immunization practices for children in America. The funding is expected to be used for updating the public health organization’s information technology infrastructure and expanding immunization delivery partnerships to help protect against vaccine-preventable diseases.

“As a new mother, I know how important medical access is for maintaining the health of our children,” said Congresswoman Duckworth. “I’m pleased this funding will help the American Academy of Pediatrics continue to serve the needs of our Eighth District community.”

This funding comes through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Improving Immunization Rates and Enhancing Disease Prevention through Partnerships with Providers grant program.
