States Attorney to discuss leadership and youth driven-solutions

Chicago IL—(ENEWSPF)—July 20, 2017.  In an effort to encourage youth to think about careers in politics, government, business and law, Mikva Challenge will host an intimate breakfast with prominent Chicago leaders such as Kim Foxx and Deputy Mayor Andrea Zopp, and youth from high schools all over Chicago on Monday July 24, at 8 a.m. at Roosevelt University, 430 S. Michigan. The goal of the breakfast is to introduce mentors and role models to youth who’ve not had these opportunities before.

These young people are part of Mikva’s Think Tank Summer- a program that employs high school students in Youth Policy-making Councils that focus on providing the youth perspective on city policies and recommend new initiatives to city leaders such as President Toni Preckwinkle’s office and the Mayor that can better things for youth in the city.

The day will culminate at 1 p.m. with a pop-up soapbox at Daley Plaza (50 West Washington), the Bean (Randolph and Michigan Avenue) and Federal Plaza (230 South Dearborn Street), where youth will talk give 2- 2 minute impromptu speeches on issues important to them and what they believe can be done to improve things.
