Illinois Company’s 207 MPGe Electric Vehicle Prototype on Display at Adler Planetarium


Divernon, IL—(ENEWSPF)–July 16, 2013 – Former Progressive Automotive XPRIZE contenders Illuminati Motor Works’ electric vehicle prototype will be on display from 6:30 p.m -10:30 p.m. at Adler Planetarium’s “Adler After Dark: Future Tech” event on July 18, 2013.

Members of Illuminati Motor Works, including Kevin Smith (Divernon, IL), Nick Smith (Park Forest, IL), Nate Knappenberger (Auburn, IL), George Kennedy (Rochester, IL), and Matt Yochim (Springfield, IL), will be on hand to answer questions.

The four passenger battery electric sedan, “Seven,” was handcrafted by Illuminati Motor Works, a team of self-funded volunteers working in a converted pole barn in rural IL. Seven placed second in the mainstream class of the 2010 Progressive Automotive X PRIZE, an international competition to build a 100 MPGe vehicle. In 2011, Seven achieved 207 MPGe on the EPA test cycle. Comparatively, the 2014 Nissan Leaf is rated at 115 MPGe.

Both the prototype and Illuminati Motor Works are featured in the book, “Ingenious: A True Story of Invention, Automotive Daring, and the Race to Revive America,” by Jason Fagone, which will be released by Crown Publishing Group on November 5, 2013.
