“Paul Ryan, Kill Your Bill before It Kills Us!”
RACINE, WI –(ENEWSPF)—March 13, 2017. Busses of seniors and other grassroots activists from around Wisconsin and Illinois will pour into Racine on Tuesday to demand that House Speaker Paul Ryan drop his plan to take away health care from tens of millions of people around the country – and pass Medicare for all.
They are bringing lunch and the message: Keep Your Hands off Our Health Care!
The action is one of the #ResistTrumpTuesdays events that have been held around the country since January. The two leading groups at the event are affiliates of People’s Action.
A hundred seniors and activists with Fair Economy Illinois are heading to Racine, Wisc., Tuesday to join another hundred or so Citizen Action of Wisconsin members. Additional Wisconsin organizations participating include SEIU Healthcare Wisconsin, Fair Economy Illinois, and Citizen Action of Wisconsin.
While Paul Ryan peddles his ruthless health care repeal bill in D.C., his constituents in Racine are wondering how they will eat when they have to choose between food, housing and health care.
The rally will take place on Tuesday, March 14, beginning at noon at Monument Square, 502 Main Street in Racine, Wisconsin. Some participants will share their stories about the potential impact of the proposed Republican healthcare legislation. The group will then march to Paul Ryan’s office: 216 6th Street in Racine.
Citizen Action of Wisconsin – is a statewide membership organization that fights to advance guaranteed affordable health care, good jobs, and a more robust democracy. Citizen Action is the Wisconsin Affiliate of People’s Action.
Fair Economy Illinois is a statewide alliance that organizes urban, suburban and rural residents around issues that affect the common good. Fair Economy member organizations are Jane Addams Senior Caucus, ONE Northside, The People’s Lobby Education Institute, National Nurses United Illinois, and Illinois People’s Action. Fair Economy Illinois is affiliated with People’s Action.
