Matteson—(ENEWSPF)—May 23, 2014. Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host a Youth Summit and Job Expo for young men and women between the ages of 15 and 21. The event will be held on Saturday, May 31 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy, 250 E. 111th St., Chicago.
Representatives from more than 50 companies and agencies, including Nike, Walmart, CVS and the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, will accept applications for active job openings and internships. The summit will also offer workshops on interview skills, resume writing, financial responsibility and building positive work habits. A Youth Panel will discuss issues confronting today’s young people.
Actress Erica Hubbard, from the popular BET sitcom Let’s Stay Together, will be on hand to meet and encourage young people.
