Non-Profit Organization Celebrated for Contributions to the Community
Alsip, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Tinley Park Sertoma Club recognized Sertoma Centre, Inc. for their dedication and hard work in the community at their annual appreciation dinner. The dinner was hosted on Wednesday, June 19, at Ed & Joes Restaurant in Tinley Park.
The Tinley Park Sertoma Club, chartered in 1983, consists of men and women from Tinley Park and surrounding communities who enjoy helping people. Tinley Park Sertoma Club is part of Sertoma, Inc., an organization of service clubs across the United States and Canada which was founded more than 100 years ago by volunteers with a purpose to meet the needs in the communities they serve. The name is an acronym for Service to Mankind. Through their many fundraisers, the Sertomans of Tinley Park support local charitable organizations and individuals in need of assistance. All funds raised by Tinley Park Sertoma Club remain in the community and provide support for local programs.
During the course of the evening, a representative of Sertoma Centre, Inc. was asked to speak to the attendees about recent developments. Tinley Park Sertoma Club members presented a donation to Sertoma Centre to help further their efforts within the community.
