Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—October 31, 2011. ‘Simply Stirling and Friends’ benefit concert will be held on Friday, November 4 at 7 p.m. at the Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University, 1 University Parkway, University Park. Proceeds will benefit choral programs of the Southland College Preparatory Charter High School and the O.W. Huth Middle School.
The event will feature Dr. Stirling Culp, internationally respected soloist, conductor, arranger, music educator and choral director, Matteson District 162, Southland College Preparatory.
Lawton Wilkerson, an original World War II Tuskegee Airman and former WBEE and WMAQ broadcaster, will emcee. Professional guest soloists: Dorothy Canady, Karen London, Dennis Jackson, John Conrad, will perform with the combined choirs of 7th to 10th grade students of both schools.
