‘Selma: The Bridge to the Ballot’ to be Screened at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Park Forest on May 27 (Video)


Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—May 3, 2016.  The Unitarian Universalist Community Church (UUCC), 70 Sycamore Drive, Park Forest, will screen the movie ‘Selma: The Bridge to the Ballot’ on Friday, May 27 at 7 p.m.  A discussion will follow the screening.

‘Selma: The Bridge to the Ballot’ tells the story of a courageous group of students and teachers who, along with other activists, fought a nonviolent battle to win voting rights for African Americans in the South. This movie is a powerful film that educates about the struggle for voting rights and the power of each person to bring about social change.

The event is free and open to the public.  Coffee, tea and snacks will be provided.  Bring a snack to share if you wish.  Optional donations greatly appreciated.
