‘Rally and Day of Action’ on Saturday, March 4 to Stand with Our Immigrant Neighbors

Rogers Park, IL–(ENEWSPF)–February 24, 2017.  Our worst fears are realized. Donald Trump has unleashed the full force of the federal government to find, arrest and deport undocumented immigrants regardless of whether they have committed serious crimes.

Make no mistake. Rogers Park will be ground zero in this effort. Nearly one-third of Rogers Park residents were born in another country. We must do everything in our power to resist Trump’s efforts and protect our friends and neighbors.

Join us for a “Rally and Day of Action,” Saturday, March 4th, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the 49th Ward Democratic Party Headquarters, 1774 W. Greenleaf (at Ravenswood).

We’ll hear from leaders in the immigrants rights movement and your neighbors who are directly affected by the Trump’s new deportation rules. We’ll then fan out across the neighborhood, knocking on doors and working L stations and grocery stores giving our immigrant neighbors information about their rights if they are confronted by a law enforcement officer.

So we know how many people to prepare for. please RSVP by sending an email response to: [email protected]

Together let’s stand up for our neighbors and our values!
