Public Open House on Park Forest Sustainability Plan to be Held Tuesday, March 20

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—March 15, 2012.  The Park Forest Sustainability Plan has been moving forward rapidly over the last few months. Thanks to the feedback from the November public meeting and from the MetroQuest community visioning website, the Village’s Sustainability Plan has now been drafted, incorporating the ideas and strategies suggested by Park Forest residents.

The planning process is gearing up for its third round of community meetings, during which the draft plan will be available for public review and comment. This Public Open House will be held at Dining on the Green. 349 Main Street, on Tuesday, March 20. Exhibits on display will include goals and strategies for addressing topics like land development, transportation options, water resources, and energy efficiency.

The purpose of the open house is to receive public comment prior to beginning the formal review process with the Village Board and other Park Forest officials. Representatives from the Village and CMAP will be available to answer questions and provide clarification.

No formal presentation will be given, so please feel free to drop in at any time between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Additional information about the Sustainability Plan is available on CMAP’s Park Forest project webpage (www.cmap.illinois.gov/park-forest). Please contact Jessica Simoncelli ([email protected] or 312-386-8631) with questions about the open house.
