Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Nature Camp for Seniors, an annual event at Thorn Creek Woods, returns this year on August 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
“We’ll put ourselves in the paws of Thorn Creek’s woodland creatures to discover clues to wild animals’ identities and explore adaptations animals have developed to find food and survive through the different seasons,” Judy Dolan Mendelson said in a statement. “We’ll make plaster replicas of tracks to take home.”
Participants will receive lunch and should be prepared to walk a half mile outdoors on natural surface trails across uneven terrain.
The program is open to anyone age 50 years and up. The fee is $5 per person and registration is required by Saturday, August 4.
Thorn Creek Nature Center is located at 247 Monee Road, Park Forest, open Friday, and Sunday, noon to 4:00 p.m. Trails are open daily from dawn to dusk.
