Alsip, IL-(ENEWSPF)- As the school year came to a close, 21 National Junior Honor Society members from Mt. Greenwood School, along with two of their teachers, took a “field trip” to Sertoma Centre, Inc. The students volunteered for a day of fun activities assisting individuals with disabilities who participate in day programs at Sertoma Centre’s Facility at 4343 W 123rd Street in Alsip. The 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students from Mt. Greenwood School organized activities which included: bingo, arts and crafts, indoor bowling, freeze dance, and Pictionary. Volunteer Services Manager, Laura Gardner said: “They were so polite and very interactive with our consumers. They jumped right in and volunteered for several hours.” When the students were asked how the volunteer event went they said, “We had a great time. We felt that bowling and bingo were the biggest hits of the day.”
