MeshugaNotes A Capella Choir Entertains Friday at Temple Anshe Sholom (Video)

Olympia Fields, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The MeshugaNotes from Ohio State University entertain dinner guests at Temple Anshe Sholom on April 1, 2011.

Temple Anshe Sholom is a Reform congregation in Olympia Fields, Illinois.

According to their Facebook page, the group was founded in 1999. The MeshugaNotes are Ohio State’s Jewish a cappella group.

Affectionately known as the ‘Shugs, this energetic group has won over audiences around the region with its spirited performances. Their repertoire includes Israeli folk and popular songs, Yiddish tunes, OSU spirit songs, and English contemporary pop songs. They make numerous appearances throughout the OSU and greater Columbus area. Their famous "Meshuganote Shabbat" concerts have made them a favorite on the Ohio State campus. The group annually performs at the Jewish Collegiate Festival of the Performing Arts at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City and have also performed at events throughout the state of Ohio. They have released two albums and are planning on recording a new album in the fall!

Meshuga is Yiddish slang and means “crazy” or “insane.”
