‘From Blues to Blue Grass’ Benefit for Uptown Tent City & Tribute to Chicago Folk Music Legend Mick Scott on Saturday, July 9

CHICAGO—(ENEWSPF)—June 22, 2016.  On Saturday, July 9, ‘From Blues to Blue Grass,’ the musical wing of Young Patriot Organization (YPO), will present a concert paired with an opportunity for Chicagoans to show their support of homeless neighbors residing in Uptown Tent City. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Hideout, 1354 Wabansia Avenue in Chicago.

Music and entertainment from The Armoreys and The Hat Stretchers, plus special guests Anndrena Belcher and Mick Scott, will flood the legendary venue, The Hideout, from 5 to 7pm. Benefitting Uptown Tent City through Northside Action for Justice, the event will pay tribute to Mick Scott Scarpelli, who was co-director of From Blues to Bluegrass in the early 1970’s and has been supporting the work of YPO to help the poor and homeless throughout his 45+ year career in folk music.  Hy Thurman, co-founder of the YPO and the original Rainbow Coalition, will emcee.

There is a suggested donation of $10 – $20 but give what you can; no one will be turned away.  Donations will be accepted at the door.
