Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—July 1, 2013. No need to fight the traffic this July 4th holiday when you can enjoy the holiday right here in Park Forest. Due to the Orchard Drive road construction last year, the parade was not held but this year it will be back beginning at 6 p.m. The parade will kick off from North Orchard near the Aqua Center, wind its way around Central Park – Orchard to Westwood, Westwood to Lakewood and Lakewood back to Orchard.
From 7 p.m. to 9:15 p.m., bring a blanket or chair and enjoy the free concert by BBI on the main stage on the Village Green (Main Street & Cunningham Drive). BBI will lay down the classics from Motown, R&B, rock and roll, to current dance hits.
At 9:15 p.m., you can turn your chairs around and enjoy the 30 minute fireworks display that will be launched from Central Park. So plan a ‘home-town celebration’ in Park Forest this 4th of July. For additional information, visit www.villageofparkforest.com.
