4thofjuly2013.jpgPark Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)—July 1, 2014. With gas prices now at record highs, many of us may be rethinking our July 4th holiday travel plans. No need to burn a tank of gas to have a great time when you can experience Park Forest’s annual 4th of July holiday celebration.

The Village of Park Forest has scheduled a full slate of events for the 4th of July. The event will begin with a parade that will start at 6 p.m. on Main Street and Orchard Drive. The parade route provides many opportunities for viewing as it winds its way around Central Park, Orchard to Westwood; Westwood to Lakewood; and Lakewood back to Orchard.

The Parade Grand Marshall this year will be recently retired Recreation and Parks Director, John Joyce.

At 7 p.m., BBI takes the stage for a free concert on the Village Green Main St. & Cunningham Dr.). BBI lays down the classics from Motown, R& B, rock and roll to current dance hits.

At approximately 9:15 p.m., concertgoers can turn their chairs around and enjoy the 15 minute fireworks display that will be launched from Central Park. No need to travel far this holiday weekend when you can celebrate and old fashioned 4th of July right here in your own backyard.

Wishing all of our eNews readers a happy and safe July 4th holiday.
