On Friday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m., the Freedom Hall Series will present Lean on Me: The Brotherhood of Rock and Roll starring Michael Ingersoll & Christopher Kale Jones.
Fellow PBS television stars (Under the Streetlamp) and former Jersey Boys cast mates Michael Ingersoll and Christopher Kale Jones unite for an uplifting evening of inspirational rock anthems including “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” by The Righteous Brothers, “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” by Frankie Valli, “Fire and Rain” by James Taylor, and “America The Beautiful” by Ray Charles.
Chicago Sun-Times declares, “He’s got star written all over him.” Performer/producer Michael Ingersoll is the creator of the Artists Lounge Live concert series. A favorite of PBS audiences, Ingersoll toured the country performing with his retro-rock vocal group Under the Streetlamp, whose television concert specials have aired in millions of homes nationwide. He is also known for starring as Nick Massi of the Four Seasons in Jersey Boys for the original Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles companies.
Other television work includes serving as Executive Producer for Artists Lounge Live’s first public television concert special: Get Happy: Angela Ingersoll sings Judy Garland; co-producing Under the Streetlamp’s multiple PBS concert specials; as well as appearances on Access Hollywood, Extra! (Streetlamp); The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tonight Show, PBS’ Capitol Fourth, The Primetime Emmy Awards (Jersey Boys); The Beast, and Chicago Fire.. CHRISTOPHER KALE JONES
Christopher Kale Jones is a nationally touring recording artist. Jones is best known for starring as Frankie Valli in the Tony Award-winning smash hit Jersey Boys for the original San Francisco, Los Angeles, and First National Tour companies. He also won hearts touring nationwide as a founding member of retro-rock sensation Under the Streetlamp, seen in millions of homes on PBS.
Other theatre highlights include starring as Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors opposite his wife, actress Jenna Coker-Jones (Ford’s Theater, Washington DC); Mercury in Olympus On My Mind (Bristol Riverside Theatre) for which he received a Barrymore Award Nomination, and Ragtime, The King & I, The Wizard of Oz, Aladdin, Peggy Sue Got Married (Marriott Theatre).
