Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Mayor John Ostenburg presented 2016 Southland College Preparatory Charter High School graduate Emily Aguirre with the Kenneth W. Kramer Scholarship.
The presentation was made prior to Monday’s meeting of the village board.
Ms. Aguirre plans to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the fall where she will pursue studies in Computer Science and Astronomy.
Valuable Scholarship
The scholarship is valued at $1,000.
“Her ultimate goal is to be a computer scientist at NASA,” Village Manager Tom Mick said during his comments at the board meeting.
