Congresswoman Robin Kelly Helps Bring in $14.2 Million in Assistance for Constituents, Communities


Washington, DC—(ENEWSPF)—December 22, 2014. Congresswoman Robin Kelly announced today that a total of $14.2 million in federal grants were awarded in 2014 to municipalities, public safety departments, health and housing agencies and schools within the 2nd Congressional District.

A total of 53 grants were awarded and provided funding for a variety of community needs, including purchasing critical equipment and training for local firefighters, expanding health and housing services, making street improvements and supporting physical education and arts programs.

“The ultimate beneficiaries of these grants are the residents of the 2nd District,” Kelly said. “I will continue to be pro-active in notifying municipalities, schools and community-based organizations about potential grant opportunities and supporting applications for worthy programs and services.”
