Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The National Weather Service in Chicago reports that the cold will continue this weekend in Park Forest, with the exception of tomorrow, Thursday, when the temperature will reach a high of 43 degrees.

There is a chance of snow flurries tonight, but nothing on the horizon like the gusty light snow that fell last night with snow drifts accumulating on sidewalks and some roads. There is a 30% chance of showers Thursday: rain showers, after noon.

Tonight, expect it to be mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 35 by 5 a.m. The wind will be southwest 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast in the evening.

Thursday night, expect a slight chance of rain showers before 11 p.m., then a slight chance of snow showers between 11 p.m. and midnight. It will be cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 16. West northwest winds will blow 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

Standing on my porch last night around 8 p.m. with my dogs, I have to say the wind whipping and the snow falling looked particularly glorious, a perfect winter’s night. But I was safe on my porch. It was just one of those moments I want to held inside, to remember.

Strange. I know.

We should reach a high of 30 degrees on Saturday, and a high of 28 on Sunday, as the National Weather Service is calling it now.
