Chicago Radio ‘Superjock’ Larry Lujack Dies

CHICAGO—(ENEWSPF)—December 19, 2013. Legendary Chicago radio personality Larry Lujack died on Wednesday in New Mexico of esophageal cancer. He was 73.

Lujack, also known as ‘Superjock’ and ‘Uncle Lar’ worked for various Chicago radio stations from the 1960s through 1987. Along with his sidekick ‘Little Tommy,’ Lujack’s shows featured the “Klunk Letter of the Day,” “Animal Stories” and the “Cheap Trashy Show Biz Report.”

Lujack was inducted into the Illinois Broadcasters Association’s Hall of Fame, the National Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
