Chicago Lights Raises Over $667,000 to Change Lives in Chicago


CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–March 9, 2017 —The Chicago Lights Gala of Hope accomplished another evening of incredible success through the annual gala supporting the five programs of Chicago Lights and the Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being on Friday, February 24, 2017. The event gathered supporters to celebrate and renew the work of compassion hope, and justice lived through these programs.

Over 600 guests came together at the Hyatt Regency Chicago to enjoy a night of philanthropy and fun at the Gala of Hope. Before the ballroom opened, guests could participate in a Mystery Wine Sale, a “Breakfast Before Tiffany’s†drawing, and an impressive silent auction. Once inside the ballroom, supporters enjoyed an elegantly-decorated space, courtesy of Revel Décor, and a seated dinner with complimentary beverages provided by Terlato Wines International.

The evening’s spectacular live auction was emceed by retired ABC 7 Chicago news anchor Ron Magers for the 12th year in a row and showcased trips to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, a European river boat cruise, and tours of Basque Country and Napa. Guests also had the chance to bid on once-in-lifetime experiences related to fine dining, an afternoon with noted National Hockey League broadcaster Mike “Doc†Emrick, and an all-access weekend with Bobby Rahal at the Grand Prix finale. The live auction rounded out with luxurious trips to Colorado and London, an exclusive golf getaway to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, and dinner with Michelin-starred Chef J. Joho of Everest. Guests celebrated the success of the event with dancing to the Ken Arlen Evolution Orchestra for the 13th year in a row.

The Chicago Lights Gala of Hope proudly showcased Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Kirkland & Ellis as the event’s Hope Sponsors. Delta Air Lines supported the event as the Official Airline Sponsor. DiMeo Schneider & Associates, L.L.C, the Driskill Foundation, and Jenner & Block, LLP were Sapphire Sponsors. Latherow & Duignan, Raymond James Financial, Inc., and Quatrro FPO Solutions were Emerald Sponsors.

The Gala of Hope supports the life-changing educational and social service programs of Chicago Lights, the 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization at Fourth Presbyterian Church. Chicago Lights has served over 50,000 people since its inception of its first program, Tutoring, and annually serves over 4,000 children, youth, and adults in the city. A portion of the proceeds also benefits the Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being at Fourth Presbyterian Church.
