Benefit Concert Rocks for Peace at Freedom Hall

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– The Johnathan B. Fields Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to impact violence in Chicago through music education, is putting on a benefit concert on Saturday, September 20th at 7:00 p.m., at Freedom Hall in Park Forest. Classic rock and blues group, East West Band will be playing the concert on a no fee basis to show their support for the Foundation and Chicago-area at-risk children who lack the financial means to pursue music education without aid. Tickets to the benefit concert are $20.

The Johnathan B. Fields Foundation supports Chicago-area at-risk youth through a Catholic Charities after school music education program which stresses the importance of dedication, persistence and life-skills which aid in the prevention of violence and drug use.

The Foundation is in memory of Johnathan Bermudez Fields, who had an inspirational love and talent for music. “I feel that music fosters creativity which helps children learn; they learn to express what is in their heart and bring forth the life energy that is dormant. No person who is touched by music deeply can do violence to another due to the Self that emerges and brings a deep connection to the essence of life.  Also, working together in group violin classes encourages group effort and working together rather than conflict and violence. Music can be more than just a creative outlet–it also positively affects a student’s dedication to academics as they begin to value and take pride in their hard work.  ”

East West Band is a Chicago-based classic rock and blues band with a smooth and energetic style which has brought them increased popularity and recognition. The 4-member band has a vintage sound sure to please fans of all genres of music.

The doors of Freedom Hall will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will start at 7:00 p.m.. All ages are welcome. Freedom Hall is located at 410 Lakewood Boulevard in Park Forest.
