Attempted Holdup With Nail Clippers

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Park Forest police were dispatched to a business in the 2300 block of Western Ave. on June 25 to investigate a suspicious person complaint. According to the report, as officers arrived on the scene, they observed a “highly intoxicated” man with black paint on his face, later identified as Kenneth R. Harper, 32, 619 Andover, Chicago Heights. An employee of the business stated that while he was dumping garbage into the dumpster on the south side of the building, he was allegedly approached by Harper, who allegedly asked him if he wanted to buy marijuana. The employee advised Harper that he does not use marijuana, and Harper walked away, according to the report. According to the employee, Harper then came back, allegedly confronted the employee, brandishing a nail clipper as if it were a knife, pointing at him and carrying a large stick. Harper allegedly demanded that the employee give him everything that was in his pockets.

The employee went inside the business. When the another employee came out and advised Harper to leave, he refused.

Harper was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, trespassing and disorderly conduct, according to the report.
