Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Fourth of July in Park Forest includes a parade, a free concert in the DownTown, and, of course, fireworks.
The celebration for July 4th begins at 6 p.m. with a parade stepping off from the corner of Main Street and Orchard Drive. The parade will proceed north to Westwood Drive then continues westbound on Westwood Drive to Lakewood Boulevard.
The final turn is at Lakewood Boulevard ending just past Central Park.
Following the parade, a concert takes place in the DownTown from 7 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Finally, a 15-minute fireworks display caps off Park Forest’s most popular event of the summer.
4th of July Weather Forecast
As of this writing just after midnight on July 4th, the National Weather Service in Chicago forecasts a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 a.m. Then, expect mostly sunny skies, with a high near 87. Light and variable winds will become south southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
AccuWeather, on the other hand, is predicting a “shower or thunderstorm around, mainly later; storms will be slow moving and bring heavy rain. The temperature will hit a high of 87 with a RealFeel of 97, according to AccuWeather.
Night on 4th of July will bring a shower or thunderstorm in the evening; otherwise, it will be mainly cloudy and humid.
