Three More Quakes Reported Today Off Coast of Honshu, Japan

Honshu, Japan-(ENEWSPF)- The United States Geological Survey issued preliminary reports of three more earthquakes today off the coast of Honshu, Japan, all in excess of 6.0 magnitude.

The first was a 6.6 M that occurred at 1:18:47 a.m. CST. The quake struck 272 km (169 miles) E (85 degrees) of Iwaki, Honshu, Japan; 292 km (182 miles) ESE (111 degrees) of Sendai, Honshu, Japan; 312 km (194 miles) E (99 degrees) of Fukushima, Honshu, Japan; and 415 km (258 miles) ENE (64 degrees) of Tokyo, Japan.

The next occurred at 3:19:03 a.m. CST at a depth of 27km. This was 90 km (56 miles) ENE (70 degrees) of Iwaki, Honshu, Japan; 131 km (81 miles) ESE (109 degrees) of Fukushima, Honshu, Japan; 133 km (83 miles) SE (140 degrees) of Sendai, Honshu, Japan; and 264 km (164 miles) NE (45 degrees) of Tokyo, Japan.

Next, a 6.6 M quake shook the ocean floor at 3:44:29 a.m. at a depth of 15km., striking 179 km (111 miles) ESE (113 degrees) of Hachinohe, Honshu, Japan; 197 km (123 miles) E (85 degrees) of Morioka, Honshu, Japan; 254 km (158 miles) ESE (114 degrees) of Aomori, Honshu, Japan; and 568 km (353 miles) NE (34 degrees) of Tokyo, Japan.
