Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–December 4, 2011. Singer songwriter, Jackson Browne, will sing at Occupy Washington, DC at Freedom Plaza (13th and Pennsylvania Ave., NW) on Monday, December 4 at 1:00 PM. Browne has been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.
Browne said “I’m singing at Freedom Plaza to express my solidarity with the Occupy Movement and to thank them for standing up for the ideals and principals I believe in.”
Browne has been politically active on environmental issues, human rights, peace, justice and health research. Browne sang at Occupy Wall Street last week.
Crystal Zevon, a long-time friend of Browne and an occupier at Freedom Plaza said “As soon as Jackson heard I was occupying at Occupy Washington D.C., he wanted to know what he could do to help. Like those of us who are living in tents our belief that trying to work within the ‘system’ no longer works, Jackson has pledged his support for the occupy movement.”
Browne recently donated three bicycle generators to Occupy Washington D.C. (www.OccupyWashingtonDC.org) and has pledged to do more, including performing at Freedom Plaza tomorrow.
