Congressman Earl Blumenauer Calls For Federal Investigation Into Misuse Of Public Funds To Oppose Oregon’s Measure 91

OREGON—(ENEWSPF)—September 5, 2014. This November, Oregonians will have the opportunity to vote on Measure 91 intended to regulate, legalize and tax the use of marijuana by adults 21 and over. While recent polls show that the majority of voters favor this Measure, there are also those that do not.

Allegedly, Kevin Sabet and Josh Marquis, two anti-marijuana zealots, have been using tax payer dollars to oppose the marijuana legalization initiative through the ‘Oregon Marijuana Education Tour.’

Today, Congressman Earl Blumenauer has written to representatives of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Office of National Drug Control Policy to investigate these allegations that appear to be violations of two Oregon statutes.

If these allegations are found to be true, the Congressman has indicated that any taxpayer and federal dollars misused for political purposes be returned.
