Obituary – Marjorie Ann Price, 82, of Orland Park


Marjorie Ann Price, age 82, of Orland Park, Illinois died peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. She was born on April 1, 1933 to the late John Homer and Margaret Marie King (nee Schmidt) in Terra Haute, Indiana. She married her loving husband, Stanley Duncan Price, on December 27, 1951.

Marjorie is survived by her loving husband Stanley; loving children S. Douglas (Joy) Price of Park Forest, Il., Deb (Nancy) Bennett of Flagstaff, Az., David (Linda) Price of Chicago, Il., Stephanie (Lawrence) Nejman of Hillsborough, NJ., and Kathy (Michael) White of Westchester, Il.; twelve loving grandchildren, five great  grandchildren; her brother John Homer King, Jr. of Tulsa Vista, Ca., and her sister Kathleen Clare Williams of Independence, Va.

Marjorie was a devoted wife and loving mother and homemaker. She lived 25 years in Chicago Heights, Il. where she raised her family. She moved to Orland Park, Il. In 1989. During her life she was active in civil rights causes, the woman’s movement, social service, peace initiatives, and her faith community. Through her loving example, Marjorie’s children have impacted the world with work in teaching, mental health service, community activism and numerous charitable endeavors. Having a keen intellect, Marjorie was an avid reader and enjoyed lively discourse. Her hobbies included cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, travel and stitchery.

Visitation Monday, August 24, 2015, 3 to 8 PM; Funeral Tuesday August 25, 2015, 10:15 AM from the Zimmerman & Sandeman Orland Funeral Home, 9900 W. 143rd St., to St. Michael Church, 14327 Highland Ave., for mass at 10:45 AM; Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery.
