Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— The Park Forest Lions Club is collecting used eye glasses to be recycled for use in third world countries on missions, and hearing aids for recycle to help our own community members in need of hearing aids. We work very closely with LensCrafters in Matteson and an Audiologist in Olympia Fields for those in need in our community .

On June 20, 2007, Mr. Donald Clark and his wife, Paula joined the Park Forest Lions Club as their guest for dinner where Donald was presented with three assistive devices from the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired at no cost to him. The devices included telescope glasses, a magnifier and another pair of glasses with a filter to help him see better than just shadows. The Park Forest Lions Club picked up the entire cost.

The Park Forest Lions Club is here for YOU! If you are in need of glasses or hearing aids, contact Lion Jim Hopper (708-715-6412), President or Lion Allen Warshaw (219-322-9082) for instructions to get an application from the nurse at the Park Forest Health Department.

If you are interested in becoming part of our Park Forest Lions, please contact the above phone numbers and let us know if you would like to come to a dinner meeting as our guest and meet the members. We meet on the third Wednesday of the month.
