CHICAGO -(ENEWSPF)–August 4, 2016. The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University announces the appointment of Tania Castroverde Moskalenko as Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Castroverde Moskalenko is currently the President and CEO of The Center for the Performing Arts and the Great American Songbook Foundation in Carmel, Indiana. She joined the Center in June of 2012 and has been able to stabilize spending, create a strategic plan to guide the future of the organization and add programming and educational experiences that have expanded the Center’s reach and engaged a broader audience.
“I am so glad that Tania has decided to join the historic Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University as our CEO. She brings a wealth of experience to this position. She has been the CEO and the Executive Director of two outstanding performing arts centers in Carmel, Indiana and Germantown, Tennessee. Under her leadership, both centers have offered a variety of programs that expanded their audiences and brought innovative artists to the venues,” said Roosevelt University President Dr. Ali R. Malekzadeh. “Here in Chicago, Tania will be working with a team of experienced and talented staff and a devoted Board of Trustees to assure the future of the Auditorium Theatre is as bright as its history.”
During Ms. Castroverde Moskalenko’s tenure, The Center for the Performing Arts has been able to operate in the black for the three previous years and has increased its donor base while building on its programming and creative engagement efforts. Revenues have also increased from building and room rentals while the Center seeks to create and attract events each day of the week throughout the year.

Chairman of the Auditorium Theatre’s Board of Directors Charlie Gardner said “Our Board and staff are thrilled to welcome Tania to both the Auditorium Theatre and Chicago. Under her direction we are confident she will continue the strong and unique vision and programming that has defined the Auditorium for over 126 years.”
Henry Fogel, who has been serving as Interim CEO since April of this year, will return to his position as Dean of Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts. This transition in leadership will take place on October 3, 2016.
About Tania Castroverde Moskalenko
Tania Castroverde Moskalenko was named the President/CEO of the Center for the Performing Arts in June 2012. She is a dynamic leader who possesses a rare combination of exemplary management skills, a passion for the arts, and a 16-year history of leading strong, financially viable arts centers. As President/CEO of the Center for the Performing Arts she provided the artistic vision and the strategic direction of the Center. During her tenure, she has streamlined operations, created a 3-year strategic plan, increased board membership, created new programs, and engaged new partners to strengthen the fabric of the community. During her first three years individual donations increased 95%, corporate support increased 66%, and the Center launched the World Stage Series designed to celebrate the many cultures residing in Central Indiana.
She holds a BFA from the University of Memphis. In October 2013, she was honored with a Women of Influence award by the Indiana Business Journal.
Prior to the Center, Tania served as Executive Director of the Germantown Performing Arts Centre in Tennessee where she erased an operating deficit, created a reserve fund, completed a 5-year strategic plan in 2 years, doubled corporate support and quadrupled grant support. She successfully implemented strategies to diversify programming and audiences, and increased community programs by 279%. She established a youth symphony orchestra which tripled enrollment in 2 years. In the summer of 2011, she led 52 members of the orchestra on a 17 day educational and cultural tour of China.
Tania was born in Cuba and arrived in the United States with her family as political refugees when she was six. She shared with the NEA her memories of how her love of art and theatre began with My Art Story.
